Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to explain and study the other side
of IbnSina as the expert in Islamic economics.
This is important because so far IbnSina has
always been identified as a doctor, chemist, and
philosopher of Islam, and such identification is
very far from economic ideas. While many
economic ideas were originated from IbnSina. His
works such as as-Syifa and Risalah as-Siyasah
have sufficiently discussed about the economy.
This study used a literature approach to describe
and analyze the object of the research, namely
reading and reviewing various sources of the
topic, analyzing and finally drawing a conclusion
which was further presented in the form of a
written report. The results of this study indicated
that IbnSina was not only a well-known and
worldwide physician, chemist, and philosopher,
but also an Islamic economics thinker. Many ideas
about the economy were born from his works, as-
Syifa and Risalah as-Siyasah, such the discussions
are about humans as economic agents; economic
revolutions as the main foundation of economic
development; and welfare as well as prosperity as
the main goals of economic practice and state
administration
